Hi, I’m Mina – the face (and doodler) behind Cutesy Place

I’ve been playing with design for as long as I can remember. When I was 10, I used to sit on my bedroom floor designing greetings cards and pretending I had my very own card business (check the lil barcode – very official). By 17, I was wandering around Loughborough town, helping local businesses with logos and business cards, not really knowing that design would sneak back into my life later on!

Fast forward to 2020 – the year none of us expected. During lockdown, many of my friends had their weddings postponed, and I wanted to cheer them up somehow. So, I created “change the date” e-cards for their new wedding days. I posted a few online, just in case they might help someone else… and suddenly I was designing for brides across the UK! 100 brides in 100 days, in fact. (It even got a little feature on the BBC - surreal)
That time reminded me how much I adore creating thoughtful, colourful, joy-sparking designs. What started as a lockdown project blossomed into something much bigger – and Cutesy Place was born... in my living room (check my "product photography" set up, complete with a reading lamp for professional lighting and old wallpaper for a clear background). Cutesy Place designs have since travelled around the UK and the world, from Goa, to Portugal, to Amalfi Coast. You can find some of these designs listed in the store :)
But here’s the thing – it’s not just about me creating for people, it’s about sharing that joy of creativity with people too. That’s why I started hosting Cutesy Place pop-up events. They’re fun, hands-on workshops where you can roll up your sleeves and design your own pieces to take home – from painted vases to personalised totes, ceramics, and lots more crafty goodness.
It’s all about slowing down, playing with colour, and leaving with something uniquely yours (and probably a smile on your face).
Now, Cutesy Place is my happy corner of the internet where I design playful, pretty things that bring smiles, colour, and a sprinkle of creativity to your day. Whether it’s for your wedding, your business, your home, or just something personal and fun – my goal is always to make it feel special.
